We take pride in our healthy lifestyles, but none of us are immune to illness and injury. Here’s your overview for finding healthcare in Colorado Springs.
As Colorado Springs continues to grow, so does its healthcare services. Despite some challenges and altered plans due to COVID-19, Colorado Springs hospitals and the region’s major healthcare systems are continuing an ongoing wave of expansion.
The main wave of growth follows the city and county’s continued population boom to the north and east sides, bringing healthcare closer to home for residents as well as allowing hospitals to diversify the types and locations of specialty care they offer.
The city has come a long way in its healthcare offerings, but since its earliest days, Colorado Springs has been known for its healthy lifestyle and as a place for healing. Founded as a 19th century version of a planned, resort-style community, the city was built to draw residents and visitors to its fresh air, abundant sunshine and nearby mineral springs.
With tuberculosis as a leading killer in the 1800s, Colorado Springs became a refuge, a research center and a home to many patients and physicians seeking refuge in the higher altitude and climate.
Today, Colorado legislates its own Health Care Exchange for individual and private healthcare insurance coverage. And Colorado ranked 7th Best State for Health Care 2020 by WalletHub.
Here is an overview of Colorado Springs hospitals and healthcare facilities to help you and your family find the care you need when you need it.
