Silver Key Senior Services is a local non-profit committed to making our community the best in the nation to age. For more than 50 years we have endeavored to this goal by preserving the dignity and independence of older adults.
Silver Key aims to make the aging process the best experience possible through three essential services: Reserve & Ride transportation, home delivered meals, and senior health and wellness services ranging from guardianship to answering questions of current care givers.
Our vision is that the value, worth, and needs of all seniors are identified and honored. We know that the lives of seniors matter and our services have great value. To help meet needs, Silver Key has recently expanded our service selection to include Five Wishes Advance Care Planning. Five Wishes is an easy to use and understand legal document that allows anyone 18+ to let their wishes be known to loved ones, while they are still in capacity to do so.
Silver Key also provides several companionship services. We compassionately serve in such a way that it’s “caring for you, like family.” These robust companionship services include: Reassurance+ (which comes with a delicious meal), Guardianship, and the veteran supporting V.E.T.S. program in partnership with AmeriCorps Seniors. Each service is uniquely tailored to help each distinctive group. Companionship services minimize the negative impacts of social isolation and protect and inform seniors on good nutrition, fall prevention, and fraud protection, to name a few.
There are several opportunities to support Silver Key in our mission. Please carefully consider making a financial donation to support those seniors who cannot pay for services themselves, or if you or a loved one need services–choose us. When you select Silver Key to receive care, you help us give care to those in need. 100% of any paid service goes to aiding those clients who could not otherwise afford care—including Meals on Wheels nutrition delivery. Another option is to become a V.I.P. Volunteer (volunteer impact program). Our volunteers make a profound difference. V.I.P. Volunteers exponentially enhance and amplify all that we do. A third way to support Silver Key is to Donate. Shop. and Repeat to our Silver Key Friends Thrift Store located at 1605 S. Murray Blvd and open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Finally, we encourage everyone to get involved and stay informed by liking, sharing, and connecting with us on all major social media platforms.
The one universal shared experience is aging. That’s why we say, “Aging is…All of Us.” We want people to be engaged with us at every age. Older adults have great value and require resources to thrive. Contact us and discover all the ways you can get needed care and support and/or make a difference in the lives of area seniors.
